From Awkward Wall to Gallery Wall

So I have this awkward wall in my kitchen.  I’ve tried putting several different things there but just couldn’t seem to get it right.  Then my sweet BFF Rachel (hey boo) took our family photos a couple of years ago (probably should update soon). I had all these adorable photos of my kids just sitting there on a disc and on the computer for nobody to see.  So what’s a mom to do?  She gets busy putting her kids on display.

First thing I did was buy some blank canvases and paint them black.  After those dried, I printed out my pics on regular paper and trimmed to size.  I applied Mod Podge all over the canvases and then placed my pics down and then applied Mod Podge all over the pics. This is a little scary at first that’s why I recommend just printing your pics on plain white paper.  Apply a few coats and let those dry completely.  Spray with a sealer and let that dry.  Lay out your arrangement first and since the canvases aren’t really all that heavy you can just hang them with command strips.

Thanks so much to Rachel for taking these pics.  They were exactly what I needed to transform this awkward wall into the perfect gallery wall.
