Ok I admit it. I have an addiction (other than candy crush).
It’s that magical substance that turns “Leave me alone or die” into “Good morning, Honey!”
It’s the lovely smell of freshly ground heaven first thing in the morning.
Sure…I could go without coffee. But I promise it wouldn’t be pretty.
My Keurig and I are besties.
It sits right there on my counter and silently calls my name every morning.
We depend on each other.
But there’s one problem.
It’s not a big problem, it’s more of an aggravation for me.
Can you see it?
It’s the cord. And the outlet.
It bugs the crap out of me.
I hate that they are just there. And that they can be seen. I know…OCD. Whatever.
So I decided to cover it up.
With a little DIY coffee sign.
I’m hooked on black and white chalkboard right now. That look may go out soon but for now it’s just me and my chalkboard.
I had an old picture frame that was black so all I did was rough it up a little and painted the glass with chalkboard paint.
Once that was dry I printed what I wanted the sign to say. I just used MS Word. It works best for me.
Then I taped it down onto the chalkboard covered glass and etched the words it into the glass with pen.
Once all etched in, I used a white paint pen (because I know my kids would erase it and write
ugly messages dirty words how much they love me) to fill in the letters.
And let it dry.
Then I took some sandpaper and roughed it up a bit. I love roughing stuff up. Almost as much as I love coffee.
Now my sign sits right beside my Keurig and every morning and afternoon, it makes me smile even more.
So never underestimate the importance of being properly caffeinated.
Coffee. It’s what runs this house. Well…coffee and love.
So go ahead. Have another cup.
