So I went shopping on Saturday. And Monday. And I’m going again on Thursday. And Friday. And Saturday.
I blame the weather. It’s supposed to be 36 degrees tonight. With frost.
Um…hellooooooo… Am I not in Georgia anymore? This usually doesn’t happen until at least January.
So I shop. I start hitting the thrift stores, antique stores, yard sales, online (freecycle, craigslist) and any other place I can find a deal.
And boy oh boy did I find some deals.
I’m stockpiling so much furniture in my garage that the poor Lexus has been banished from entering.
Here’s some of the goodness I found…
Kitchen Island with Butcher Block – Solid and in great shape. (This is for my MIL, she actually bought it for around $50.00). I’ll be redoing it for her.
This little cutie will be getting a makeover. It’s solid wood and I paid a whopping $8.00 for it! Can I get a Whoop Whoop!
Y’all remember these old stereo cabinets…right? My mam-maw had one in her house and we loved that thing. I found this one and it reminded me of her so I scooped it up for $15! Yes I said $15.00!
Here’s another beauty that reminds me of home. She too will be getting a makeover and I will make her beautiful again. I’ll even give her a new sewing machine. Then I may learn to sew. She’ll even be worth the $10 that I paid for her.
Now this baby I have big plans for. She’ll be getting new paint and some cork and perhaps burlap. She’ll be well worth the $28.00 I paid for her. Then she’ll get her new home in my craft room because… nobody puts baby in a garage.
Yeah…it’s just wood. Beautiful wood. Could you pass it up for $1.00?
Yes it’s a suitcase. A beautiful, sturdy, hard suitcase. And it’s Alligator!!!! OMG! And yes that price tag says $1.00. SCORE!!!!
It’s a window. Just a window. A $5.00 window. That’s all.
Would you just look at this old wooden tool box. O.M.G. he’s gorgeous! He’s a $7.00 hunk!
And how cute is she? She’s $4.00 cute that’s how much. Love the old ruler handle.
I had been looking for a 5 ft. wooden ladder for months. I walked into this antique shop and there he was. Just hanging from the ceiling staring down at me. It was love at first sight. $20.00 love.
Coffee grain sack…$5.00. Square yard stick…$4.95. Old wooden cutting board…$2.00. My happiness…Priceless.
I saved this little beauty for last. There are so many sweet and wonderful memories that come flooding back in my mind every time I look at this old antique heater. I’m not sure what I’ll do with her yet but that doesn’t matter. For now I’ll just keep looking at her and remembering all the wonderful times me, my sisters, my mom and my dad had while we were growing up in that old house. The $2.00 I paid for this heater wasn’t nearly enough. The memories that come along with it are priceless. No…she doesn’t work and I’m perfectly fine with that.
