An Autumn Quickie

I know what you’re thinking. Now get your mind out of the gutter.

I’m talking about a really fast project for fall.

This one is super easy.

All you do is take a blank white canvas and paint it any color you want. I chose black.

Find or make you a fall quote or just pick out any random words that remind you of the season and print it out.

Once your canvas dries, take some mod podge and cover your canvas.

Then take your printed quote, flip it to the backside and cover it in mod podge.

This stuff starts to dry pretty quickly, especially when you’re running the fan, because you know…impatient.

Whatever.

Anyway, after you’ve covered the back of your printed  quote in mod podge, flip it back over and position it onto your canvas.

Rub all the bubbles out. I use my hand first and then flip the canvas over and use a rewards card on the back.

Once it dries, you can trim the edge if it overhangs.

I wanted mine to look ragged and aged so I trimmed the bottom while it was still wet.

Since I was going for an aged look I took a sanding block and went over the whole thing.

I roughed up all along the edges as well as the sides and the paper.

Once I was satisfied, I covered the entire canvas with mod podge.  I did three coats and let dry completely in between each. I finished it off with a mod podge sealer.

And that’s it.

You’re all done and can display your new Autumn canvas.

So quick and easy.

So if you’re in the mood for a quickie there’s really nothing easier to do.

Well…there is…

But that’s another day.

And another blog.
