It’s sunny here!
I didn’t think it could get here fast enough.
It might not stay long but while it’s here…
I’m so in it.
Because these pallets aren’t going to rip themselves apart.
And I’m not going to lie…
these things were a beast to get apart.
Note to self…
invest in sawzall.
There are no pictures to show of the ripping apart process because by the time I was finished…
I was angry.
I was frustrated.
And I was filthy.
Those things are built to last.
Anyway…
I’ve been seeing this sign all over Pinterest and I have loved it for a long long time.
You can read how she does her sign here.
I didn’t follow her tutorial exactly because…
I’m lazy.
So I just did it my own way.
First I painted my boards with some chalk paint that I already had made up.
Then I added some wood glue and fasteners thingys to the back.
The boards were a little uneven which was fine with me, that’s why the fasteners are all over the place.
I don’t care…who’s looking at the back anyway.
I then used my heavy duty staple gun to attach some picture hanging wire.
Once secured, I created a template and then uploaded to blockposters and printed it out.
I then chalk transferred my letters like I always do. This is the easiest method to me but you could easily create a stencil.
I then filled in the letters with the colors I wanted.
I went with a grayish silver color and black.
My walls are gray and the decor is white so I felt that would work.
And of course…
I was right…
again.
GO ME!
I broke out my orital sander to give it the distressed look.
I might have went a little too crazy around the “G”.
Whatever.
It still looks perfectly distressed so I hung it up.
I love how the sun coming through the window makes the
“Be the Good” shine.
I’m happy with the way it turned out.
And I’m happy that the sunshine and 80 degree temps have returned.
I just hope it stays.

Love this and I think it is perfectly distressed. I think I’ll save pallet deconstruction for someday when I am in a foul mood and take my frustration out on it! Ha! Thank you for sharing it at What We Accomplished Wednesdays.
