Bragging Rights

That’s right.

You heard me.

And I have every right to brag.

My baby received his first year letter for competing in the Special Olympics.

The transition to high school was tough.

But with the help of good friends, good family and great teachers, we survived.

And we couldn’t be any happier or any more pleased.

If your school doesn’t have a Unified Program, I highly recommend it being looked into. You can read more about it here.

Now some of you may look at my child and think…’he doesn’t look special’ or ‘that kid looks just like everyone else’ and you’re right…

He looks just like everyone else.

However, what you don’t know is that he was born weighing 1 lb., 9 oz. and has severe learning disabilities and mild cerebral palsy. This was caused from brain damage following his birth and complications stemming from him being so premature (born at 26 weeks).

This letter is a huge accomplishment and I am so very proud.

He is my world.

He is my heart.
